New Beginnings

The New Year always  prompts us for changes.  New Year's resolutions fly around us.  We renew and resolve ourselves to become better.  Be better, do better, feel better.

Getting ready for my new year has brought me to a point where I would like to focus on my own inner happiness.  Feeling happy and fulfilled in my life no matter what is going on around me.  No matter what crisis has occurred, no matter what my soon to be teenage daughter's mood of the day is, no matter how much money we have or don't have, no matter if I lived up to other people's expectations.

I came to the conclusion that I need to do more learning, have more experiences, feel better about myself, get out of my comfort zone more often, downsize my belongings (hoard much?), and become a better documenter of our family's memories...all this while still getting my daily chores done!

I have decided to blog about my process in order to prevent this resolution from disappearing into the land of abandoned resolutions.  It would be great if others joined me, so I will try to get the word out over the next few days as best I can (I'm not popular on the web by any means...no blog, no YouTube channel, a little Instagram account and a private Facebook account).  So, if you're reading this and know people...hook a girl up!

So what exactly is this all about?
First, let me just say I have not blogged before...I tend to ramble sometimes...I'm big on procrastinating...and I can fall into a lazy spell...or two.  I don't have this all planned out.  In fact, as I was preparing my bullet journal for the new year I really wanted to make it more than just a planner and starting thinking of how I could do that.  And BAM, here we are!  I am flying by the seat of my pants here!!!  I'm either going to spread my wings and start flapping or I'm going to fall flat on my face.

The idea is to have MONTHLY THEMES and then have WEEKLY TASKS.  The tasks will generally fall into the theme's category...so if it's something like Letting Go as our theme, our tasks may be something along the lines of:  donate/throw away/gift at least 5 items this week.  I will let you know how I'm tackling the week's task and guide you with ideas and resources.  Every Sunday I will post the new weekly task.  I will try to touch on different categories for each of the weeks (household, mental health, faith, relationships, personal growth).  Letting go won't mean getting rid of stuff all month long! (Unless you really want to).  It will include more tasks that fall into other categories throughout the month.

I will share my "planner" with you.  I say "planner" because it's more than a planner really.  It is my life, in a book. It is my LifeBook...but that title is already taken.  So, we will just have to call it a planner for now, oh, I know, what about my HOTIbook?  Oh, yes....hmmm, I wonder if that's taken? Happy Planner is taken...oh bother...Told you I ramble...

Are you still here?
Wow, thank you for sticking around this long!!! :) If you are interested in following along and participating, please come back often!  Please spread the word...the more the merrier, right?
